A common issue for the S55 / N55 / N54 engines that over time the crank hub assembly which is connected to the crank pulley will experience slippage. Once slip, an error code may appear / engine check light comes on, please shut off the engine immediately to prevent further engine damage.
The engine’s timing chain runs on the gears of the crank hub which rotates as a whole unit at the same time the engine’s crankshaft rotates. So when the crank hub has slip it will not rotate at the same time as the crankshaft and your engine timing will run off causing damage to internal parts of the engine.
The hub consists of gears that runs the timing chain which suppose to be at a fixed position but due to a manufacturers defect in the crank hub the gears will slip in due time causing the engine’s timing to run off.
This package offers a solution to keep the hub from any slippage as an installation of custom made hub unit to prevent the issue from happening again.
This fix will require the the engine’s valve cover and timing cover removed for the installation.
