Based on our experience of 20 over years in the automotive field, we can figuratively relate our car’s condition to our own physical well-being. Very often we do not pay enough attention to our own car until a problem arises. Performing regular maintenance checks can help you avoid costly repairs from major problems.
In order for a car to be in a good operating condition in tune with saving time, money and hassle, car owners must take care of their vehicle much like their own health. This is to ensure the longevity of a vehicle avoiding costly repairs and time consumption.
✅Do not miss or delay your service due dates.
✅Have your car inspected at least 3 times a year to keep wear and tear parts in check.
✅Ignoring or delaying small issues may cause other major issues to occur.
✅Replace parts that are supposedly be replace according to mileage or time. Although the component may still be able to run, you risk vehicle break down in unwanted times just like a ticking time bomb. This will cause you more damage to other areas of the cars and your Time. Prevention is better than cure.
✅Pop the hood from time to time and visually inspect if there are any oil or fluid leakages. Inspect coolant tank weekly or fortnightly to ensure it is at proper level.
✅Check your tyres. Turn the steering wheel all the way to either side, look at the depth of the tyre grooves or any signs of small cracks or uneven wear.
When driving:
✅Avoid driving behind a smoky vehicle such as a lorry or a truck.
✅Try to maintain a distance of at least 1-2 metres from the vehicle in front of you so that the front part of your vehicle is not obstructed for airflow to the engine. No airflow could cause your engine to get much hotter in a period of time.
✅Avoid driving over puddles of water, dirt, sand or muddy areas as water / mud / sand can get in contact with the undercarriage of your vehicle. Water / sand / dirt can get into places and cause damage to the rotating parts of the car. You never know you may have a broken suspension dust boot to protect the absorber shaft, if the shaft is exposed and dirt gets in, you will wear the shaft very quickly.
✅Take a speed bump as it is made for. Driving too fast over a speed bump may not have immediate effect on the undercarriage of the car but definitely decreases its lifespan of the suspension system such as the rubber bushings and absorbers.
