Preventive Maintenance Knowledge

Engine Oil Service : 5,000km – 10,000km (every 3-6 months)

Do not exceed service due dates as this can cause more wear on our engine as the oil’s lubricating properties are wearing off as well. Oil thickness / viscosity will be thinner causing temperature tolerance to be reduced. This can cause our oil to evaporate faster and the oil is unable to help lubricate efficiently, less oil = more friction = more heat + wear.

⭐Oil oversaturated with tiny metallic dusts unseen by the naked eye, oil should not consist of foreign objects as it can reduce its flow rate and may cause clogging.

Depending on your driving style, oil change can be much sooner or later but not exceeding its due date according to previous service.

(If you’re a spirited driver who likes driving fast with high RPM most of the time on the road, it is suggested to have oil service at 5,000km. If you are gentle with the car you can opt to have the oil replaced at 7,500km – 10,000km.

Transmission / Gearbox / 4WD / Axle, Differential Oil Service : 20,000km – 40,000km (every 1-2 years)

⭐Do not exceed as well, similar to engine oil service. Many neglect and has caused transmission issues.

⭐Transmission oil filter is encouraged to replace as it could cause bad oil flow due to clogging of dirt from oil similar to engine oil filter.

⭐4WD / axle oil should be replaced the same time as a transmission oil change.

⭐Reduce the wear on your transmission clutches.

Spark Plugs / Ignition Coils : 60,000km – 100,000km

⭐Spark plugs should be replaced to prevent engine misfiring due to the fuel not being able to be burnt off properly by a failing spark plug.

⭐Ignition coils should be checked and replaced as well nearing this mileage as it may malfunction and unable to provide the needed power for sparking.

Air Filter : 60,000km or less depending on driving style and condition of air environment (prone to be more dirty if driving in areas with a lot of dust and smog especially in the city)

⭐Your engine needs oxygen, clogged filters will restrict the air flow thus reducing engine performance.

Battery : about 2 years more or less

⭐Car battery should be replaced nearing its operating lifespan as it cannot contain the charge any longer.

⭐Neglecting change in due time may cause electrical and fault codes to appear sporadically in most modern day cars.

Timing Chain / Belt : 90,000km – 100,000km

⭐We recommend timing chain to be replaced at this mileage because if this chain malfunctions you will end up with an engine overhaul causing more time and money.

⭐The timing chain may be in okay condition but the chain guides (the part that the chain sits on), chain tensioner (the part that keep the chain tight), this parts can wear off over time and mileage.

⭐Most timing chain guides are made of plastic.

Water Pump : 90,000km – 100,000km

⭐One of major component that keeps your engine temperature in check.

⭐A failing or leaking water pump can devastate your engine and you’re in for more costly damages.

⭐Related components are radiators, their top and bottom parts are made of plastic and wil crack over time. You must take into consideration even though there isn’t any leak yet and to have the radiator replaced or serviced.

A dirty gearbox oil filter that needs to be replaced
An engine mounting that uses hydraulic oil, the oil is dirty
Axle oil unchanged over a period of time consisting of metallic dusts
Dirty stock engine air filters, replaced with higher flow air filters
Factory stock radiator with plastic top housing prone to cracks over high mileage
Metallic dust collected from a gearbox oil pan on the magnet
Noticeable coolant sipping out from radiator hose (greenish deposits)
gearbox oil filter replacement
Gearbox oil filter replacement
